About Harpers Homestead

Harpers Homestead is a wedding venue in Swannanoa, about 15 minutes north of Christchurch, where the ceremony, reception and dance all happen on one property. Couples can marry in front of the rustic chapel wall, beneath the oaks or in the open field beside a running stream.

Canapes and drinks follow under the grapevine or on the central oval, then the reception moves to the barn, which has seating and a dance floor, or to an alfresco setting. Seating is comfortable for 100 guests.

Packages include exclusive use of the venue and grounds, a pre-ceremony lounge for the wedding party, two bars and lawn games. A wedding planner, a celebrant and accommodation are available as extras.
